The members of the Governing Body of Connell Sixth Form College are from all walks of life and they bring knowledge, skills and experience to the Governing Body which continue to prove invaluable in the development of this new College.
A Governor’s role is as a ‘critical friend’ to the College. Governors do not manage the College on a day to day basis but work as a group to develop the strategic vision of the College liaising closely with the Principal, Leadership Team, Staff and Students. They provide valuable insights, and work as a sounding board, for ideas and plans to develop and enhance the provision of education at Connell Sixth Form College.
Their role also includes the oversight of activities in the College and some Governors act as ‘Link Governors’ to gain specific knowledge of the various areas of the College. Through this, they keep the Governing Body informed on all aspects of the College. Governors are ultimately responsible for how the College is performing.
