Connell Sixth Form College is Manchester’s (and Trafford, Stockport, Oldham, Salford, Wigan, Bolton) top performing A-Level provider in terms of students’ progress, according to the government’s latest school performance tables.
Our A-Level results in 2017 show that the final grades our students achieve, compared to their starting points when joining the institution, is nearly twice that of any other school in the area.
The government’s statistics measure what students are expected to achieve at A-Level based on their GCSE attainment against their actual results. That progress is then given a score, with Connell’s figure of 0.28 leading the way in Manchester, and second place only scoring 0.17.
|Connell Sixth Form College||0.28|
|Ashton Sixth Form College||0.16|
|Oldham Sixth Form College||0.13|
|The Blue Coat CofE School||0.1|
|Clarendon Sixth Form – Tameside College||-0.12|
|Whalley Range High School||-0.16|
In addition, we are 4th nationally for A-level progress amongst sixth form colleges, an amazing achievement.
Our Principal, Jane Hopcroft said, “We are thrilled our students are making such tremendous progress. Our students, from across Manchester and from a wide range of backgrounds and schools have worked hard and achieved more than they would anywhere else.”
