Chester Zoo Visit
Back to article list

5th July 2017 | By Clare Lenge, Teacher of Biology and Science

A group of 30 Lower 6th Biology and Psychology students visited Chester Zoo last week. During this visit the students explored the zoo and attended talks on Evolution and Biodiversity. During these talks students were able to understand the importance of the role that customs play in promoting Biodiversity, by looking at confiscated items prohibited in this country such as snake skin, tiger coat and crocodile handbags.  We were able to investigate the new exhibit called ‘the islands’ and introduce themselves to the new member of Chester zoo, the baby giraffe Murchison.
